ETNOBOTÁNICA Y USOS POTENCIALES DEL CIRIÁN (Crescentia alata, H.B.K.) EN EL ESTADO DE MORELOS
Abstract
This work is a result of some years of
investigations about C. alata, a species
that occupies the sixth place in importance
as a traditional use of the tropical
deciduous forest of Morelos state, Mexico.
Different components, supported with
field date, such as: ethnobotanical,
phytochemical, anatomy, technology,
ecology, taxonomy, statistics and its
propagation are integrated and point out
the nutritional, handicraft, medical and
wood potential forestry resource of C.
alata. It has a high productivity but at the
same time its population has decreased. The
results of this study offers a conservation
strategy and the rural communities will be
able to have a good economic alternative
in the future and they could improve their
ecosystem.
