Abstract

Souroubea loczyi subsp. loczyi represents the
first record of the family Marcgraviace in the
Mexican portion of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Until now, the species had been known in
Mexico from the states of Chiapas, Tabasco,
and Veracruz, as well as in Belize, Guatemala
y Honduras. The material from Yucatan is
described and compared with other material
of the genus in Mexico as well as with relevant information available in the literature.
