BIOENGENHARIA UTILIZANDO BAMBUS EM FAIXAS PARA O CONTROLE DE PROCESSOS EROSIVOS: UMA ANALISE QUALITATIVA
Abstract
This work shows the potential use of
bamboo with an alternative to recover
the moderate erosion. The technical was
applied in southern scarpment of the Serra
da Mantiqueira, city of Pindamonhangaba,
and claimed as a result to reverse environmental damage caused by the rupture of a
water adductor located at 1 700 m altitude,
that resulted in the formation of a scar in
the hillside forest, with soil and vegetation
removal. To reverse the erosion processes
created at the site, a new technique was
developed using four barriers formed by
seedlings of Bambusa multiplex (Lour.) in
order to divert the waters and promote the
regeneration of vegetation. The planting
site was delimited by limiting lawn, with
function to keep the bamboo seedlings
in a con¿ned space, limiting its growth,
ensuring that rainwater did not carry the
seedlings before the interlacing of rhizomes,
their formation and ¿xation in the soil. The
seedlings of B. mutiplex were planted next
to each other, at distances of 10 cm, trying
to ¿ll the enclosed area. The interventions,
barriers that will promote the stability of the
erosive processes. The choice of bamboo as
a type natural ecological barrier, favored the
drainage of super¿cial waters and provided
the stability of the erosions caused by envi
ronmental accidents, and can be considered
as an ef¿cient method to contain the erosive
processes.
