Abstract

This article presents the results of a study
of the flora and vegetation of the AtizapanValle Escondido state park, located in
Atizapan de Zaragoza, State of Mexico. The
floristic list includes 78 families, 226 genus
and 320 species. The largest families are:
Compositae (70 species, 22%), Gramineae
(25 species, 8%), Leguminoseae (27
species, 8%); together these contain 38%
of the species found in the park. The
following types of vegetation are
recognized and briefly discussed: oak
forest, secondary grassland, desert-scrub
and mixed vegetation.
