Abstract

Pollen analyzed of 35 samples of Centris
inermis Friese in the Pacific coast from Jalisco,
Mexico. Altogether, 27 species were found,
belonging to 10 plant families, although the
really important sources (with representation of
10% or over) were represented by only 10
plant species belonging to five families. The
plant families which occurred most in pollen
samples were: Bignoniaceae, Compositae,
Leguminosae, Malpighiaceae and Verbenaceae.
The foraging behavior of C. inermis can be
classified as polylectic. Through the year C.
inermis collected its resources homogeneous
with a diversity index varied from 0.93 to 1.74.
